I few weeks ago I got the chance to see a *FREE advanced screening of Parental Guidance with my husband, father in law, and room mate. The movie features Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, Tom Everett Scott and Bailee Madison. I can go into what the movie is about but really I think the trailer below can do a much better job.
Parental Guidance caught me off guard and surprised me. It looked like a cute movie but I honestly didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did. The biggest surprise however was that after all that laughing I still managed to cry too! My father in law absolutely loved it. He could not. stop. laughing. Parental Guidance had a romantic comedy feel but with family focused themes.
My room mate didn’t originally want to see the movie until I told him I had free tickets. Afterwards I asked if he’d have been willing to pay to see it. He said “No.” I however disagree, I think it was a really cute family movie and it shows that there’s something behind all different parenting techniques. Sometimes you need a little new school and a little old school to produce the best results.
I’m not sure how much longer Parental Guidance will be in theaters, so you should probably call Grandma and make that movie date now.
*I signed up on Gofobo.com and follow them on facebook. I was tipped off about the free advanced screening tickets by them. And remember Craig Kandiko (Geekenstien.com) from Episode 10: Two Girls One Podcast? Well he put together an incredibly thorough post on how to get LOTS of advanced screening tickets.
