The beginning of the book is a bit of a shock. Twenty years have passed and Claire is back in her own time visiting Scotland with her 20 year old daughter Brianna. Claire decides to tell Bri the truth about her father and it’s in the retelling that we find out what happened while Jaime and Claire were in France.
This book is very long, but I’m once again amazed by Diana Gabaldon’s incredible story telling. Nothing seemed extraneous. I savored every minute of Dragonfly in Amber.
