The Mommy Gamers

Born and raised in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. Gaming and Crafting have been a massive chunk of my life. My grandmother taught me both. From Atari to speedrunning Super Mario on the SNS. We would crochet in between our turns. Growing up I was lucky enough to have a Nintendo and Gameboy in my bedroom so I remember doing late-night Mario runs and Tetris competitions with my mom. When I became a teenager I bought my very first gaming system for myself, the N64. Where my mom and I would continue our late-night Tetris competitions playing Tetrisphere. Needless to say, I have always had a big love for Nintendo. As an adult, I continued my love for Nintendo by buying 3 Nintendo Wii’s and 2 Nintendo Switch’s. Although I have the same love for my pc games.

Now as a mother of 2 boys I am excited that I get to bond with my kids on a level that they think is cool (Even for my teenager). Being able to share in the excitement of new game releases and in-game achievements. Knowing their frustrations when something they worked on for weeks all of a sudden gets destroyed because of another person, or a crashed data file. Being able to teach them to curb those frustrations and then show them how to fix or move on from a situation.

Over a decade ago I got sick with 3 neurological illnesses that changed the course of my life forever. However, I am not one to just sit around and do nothing so  I started SmalltownDreamz. It was my crafting company getting to share all the things I loved about crafting. Crafts with the kids, pattern designs, how-to’s and so much more.  About 4 years ago I started making the switch to gaming to cater to my evolving health issues. It was then that I found a place where I truly felt like I belonged.

A couple of years ago I found Jax on Twitch and knew I really found a place where I belonged. And I was so honored when I was asked to be part of the Mommy Gamers crew!! I look forward to being able to share my love for gaming and experiences in motherhood with these two crazy gamer boys!
