BLAZE THE DEAD – ZOMBIE ARMY 4 LAUNCHES TODAY

1946. Europe lies in ruins, torn apart by “Plan Z.” The zombie Führer has been cast into Hell but Hitler’s hordes are back for more!

From the makers of Sniper Elite 4 and Strange Brigade, ZOMBIE ARMY 4: DEAD WAR rises today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC! The brand new installment in Rebellion’s cult horror shooter series is available both digitally and in boxed copies*.

While I realize this isn’t a family-friendly title I personally am an adult who enjoys playing pew pew zombie games with my friends. This one has my attention largely because of the up to four player co-op option. There’s something about venturing out to survive hordes of zombies with a crew that makes my heart happy.

Close to the Sun ~ PAX East Hands On

Close to the Sun Review Hands On PAX East The Mommy Gamers

Close to the Sun is a beautiful game with a horrific story, coming in 2019 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Players guide journalist Rose Archer in search of her sister Ada, who is stationed on the Helios. Set in 1897, the Helios is the vision of Nikola Tesla, a famous inventor, mechanical engineer, and futurist.

One of the beautiful non-blood covered areas.

I got a Layers of Fear vibe from Close to the Sun, with the story being a heavy focus of the game, and of course…all the blood. A little later in the demo I got a big Resident of Evil vibe as Rose was repeatedly stabbed after my multiple failed attempts at running away from a madman. But it’s not all jump scares and blood, the art deco aesthetic and breathtakingly beautiful graphics balanced out the gore nicely.

Once the doors close behind you the story really starts to unfold.

At the end of the lengthy hands on demo at PAX East I left wanting to know more about Rose and her story. Does Rose ever find her sister Ada? What happened aboard the Helios to quarantine that colossal ship? I hope to spend more time unraveling these mysteries later this year when Close to the Sun releases.

Check out the Close to the Sun Official Trailer:

Close to the Sun,will come exclusively to the Epic Games Store on PC. Available now for pre-purchase worldwide. Prospective adventurers can discover Close to the Sun at EpicGames.com, for $29.99 in North America and €29.99 in most European countries.

New Fortnite Update Introduces Battle Royal PvP Mode

Fortnite Battle Royale PvP Mode The Mommy Gamers

Today, Epic Games announced Fortnite Battle Royale, an all-new PvP mode coming to the action-building game Fortnite on Sept. 26, available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Fortnite released in July as a paid early access game for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Mac. PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds players will find this new mode familiar as Fortnite Battle Royale similarly drops 100 players onto one giant map. Combat and building skills will be put to the test and the last commander standing wins. Check out the Battle Royal Announce Trailer here:

Fortnite will also be available on discount this week at 25% off the Standard and Deluxe Founder’s Packs. The price discount runs through Sept. 18. Anyone who owns Fortnite can immediately play Battle Royale in the special Public Test for Fortnite Players that runs now until the launch on Sept. 26. Though it is worth reminding everyone that Fortnite is still an early access game, so players will likely experience crashes and bugs. From my personal experience with the game thus far, the crashes are few and far between.

The Mommy Gamers community has been enjoying Fortnite on our Twitch streams found here. We also frequently team up through our Discord server, so if you are looking for friends to battle and adventure with check out our Discord community here.  I know I haven’t been bringing you guys a lot of gaming news, but I am really having a great experience with Fortnite and PUBG and I had to dump my excitement out somewhere.
