    Contrast Interview & Hands-On Preview Xbox 360

    Contrast-Package-Art

Contrast releases this week and it occurred to me I never got around to posting our interview video and hands-on game time from PAX Prime.  Topping my list of great games I saw at PAX, Contrast is a puzzle platformer set in the vaudevillian world of the 1920’s. You play as Dawn, the imaginary friend of a little girl named Didi, shifting from a beautiful 3D world into a 2D world of shadows.

Check out our interview with Guillaume Provost, creative director and founder of Contrast. The story behind the game is very heartwarming and personal.

Contrast will be available on PC, Xbox LIVE® Arcade, PS4  freely available to Playstation Plus Members on November 15th.  It will release on PS3 through the Play Station Network November 19th (US) and November 20th in Europe with the PS4 version landing on November 29th.

There’s still time to pre-order the PC version and receive as a bonus, the original soundtrack (MP3) and Developer’s Diary.  You can pre-order via the Contrast site or through Steam for only $14.99.

Video Games Live Interview with Tommy Tallarico – PAX Prime 2013

    This is a test

    Tommy Tallarico The Mommy Gamers
Hannah got another chance to talk with Tommy Tallarico while she was at PAX Prime 2013 in Seattle. Tommy is working on a new Kickstarter program to help fund the Video Games life Level 3 album. Hannah and Tommy chat about the Kickstarter, Tommy turns the microphone around and interviews Hannah for a little while, and the interview gets completely off course when a random cosplayer joins in the fun.

Cards Against Humanity – PAX Prime 2013

    Cards Against Humanity Fortune Cookies

    Cards Against Humanity Fortune Cookies

What happens when you sneak in the exit of the Cards Against Humanity booth at PAX Prime? A random interview!

I stuck my head in their booth, hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive Bigger Blacker Box, and maybe grab some swag. What I ended up with was an interview with Ben Hantoot, one of the eight co-creators of Cards Against Humanity. Ben was a good sport and didn’t seem to mind being kidnapped at all.

Desirai (Mommy Gamers co-host, co-owner, and Evil Genius) and I are huge fans of Cards Against Humanity. We’ve mentioned CAH in many of our podcast episodes,  Episode 22: Deep Dark Hole (12:35) and Episode 27: Sparkle Pukes, to name a few. Also, last year when I attended PAX Prime, I was covering the convention for The Married Gamers.  I experienced Cards Against Humanity for the first time and even wrote a little something about what has now become my favorite card game of all time.  You can read that article by clicking here.

Sadly, I missed out on the Bigger, Blacker Box. By the time I got around to going to purchase one, they were sold out. I plan to keep an eye on their website though, where I’ve signed up to be notified when they are available to purchase.

However, I did come back with something awesome. The exclusive Cards Against Humanity themed fortune cookies that were being handed out at PAX Prime 2013. I have FOUR of these to give away, and to win you just have to do one thing for us…harass the people at Cards Against Humanity. I’m sure they won’t mind at all.

If you win one of the fortune cookies, please visit our Facebook page and share your fortune with us once you receive it. Desirai really wants to know what’s inside of these things. A fortune cookie opening video would really make her day.

*Ben Hantoon was not actually kidnapped by The Mommy Gamers, and was safely returned to his booth after finishing the interview. I think he might have actually run away…hmmm.

Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved – PAX Prime 2013 Interview

My daughter Hannah and I were invited to see Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved at PAX Prime 2013 in Seattle, WA. Disney Interactive and Harmonix Music Systems gave us a special sneak-peek into “The Haven,” the newest realm to be revealed from the “Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved” video game. We also got some hands-on time with the game, and a chance to speak with Matt Boch, Creative Director for Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved.

We are also giving away one of these exclusive sorcerer’s hat & pin combos from PAX Prime 2013. To win, leave us a comment naming one of the songs mentioned in the video interview with Matt Boch. You can also earn extra entries by tweeting about the contest, and liking us on Facebook!  Check the rafflecopter information below for details on how to enter.
