Cute Valentine’s Deal from Artifex Mundi

mainsite_imageIt’s nearly Valentine’s Day, love is in the air and nothing makes my heart flutter quite like a great deal on games.  If you don’t already have a relationship with Artifex Mundi, now is a great time to start up a fling with this casual gamer creator and publisher.  Their “Cute Valentine’s Deal” has three of their games priced up to 85 percent off now through February 19th.

Artifex Mundi is best known for their stunning hidden object games with compelling stories. As an added bonus their games are available on multiple platforms, which is something I appreciate.

For Valentine’s Day, they are running sale promotions in the Mac App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry World, the Windows Store, and the Windows Phone store. There are 2 games in each store, discounted at different levels at least through the weekend. Here’s the breakdown:

    Headset deal alert:Turtle Beach

TurtleBeachPX5I just saw this, and felt the need to pass it along. Amazon.com has the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 Programmable Wireless 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Headset (manufacturer refurbished), normally selling for $250, for $95. I’ve heard good things about the Turtle Beach, but since I’m deaf in one ear, headsets and I don’t get along at all well.

If you’re in the market for a new headset, this might just be the steal you’re looking for! Find it on Amazon.com here.

Weekend Deal Alert: Torchlight and Torchlight II on Steam

    steamworkshop_webupload_previewfile_122145850_preview

If you like classic D&D-like RPGs as I do, then this is your weekend! Steam is offering 75% off both Torchlight and Torchlight II. That brings Torchlight to $3.74 and Torchlight II to $4.99.

The Torchlight series are RPGs that look and play very much like Diablo and Diablo III from Blizzard Entertainment. And they should, because Torchlight developer, Runic Games,  was founded by several ex-Blizzard folks.

Torchlight is very much a dungeon-delving RPG of the most classic kind. There are 3 classes: the Barbarian (melee tank), the Alchemist (mage), and the Vanquisher (ranged bows and guns).

Torchlight II is more like Diablo III in that you move around horizontally in the world as well as vertically down dungeons. There are 4 classes here: the Berserker (melee tank), the Embermage (mage), the Outlander (ranged weapons and guns), and the Engineer (melee damage dealer with special magic-imbued gear).

This could make me sign up for Steam finally. Which will bring plenty of other temptations, I’m sure. These offers end on January 13, 2014, so snatch them up fast!
